Jeanne Sovet (also known as Jeanne Prevost) is a published author and long-time elementary educator. Her work includes picture books, such as It’s Raining Pups and Dogs! and It’s Raining Cats and Cats! published by the Gryphon Press, and nonfiction books for adults and children. Over her many years of experience in the elementary classroom, she has created lesson plans that make teaching reading and writing easier and more effective. Jeanne has a Master's Degree in Education from the University of Massachusetts and spent years presenting and learning with fellow teachers through her local branch of the National Writing Project. In addition, she attended Lesley University in Cambridge, MA, to become certified as a literacy coordinator.

Through the University of Rhode Island Cooperative Extension Master Gardener Program, Jeanne is working with other gardeners to grow food for people and habitat for wildlife.
